Condolences from the North Bay ProBus Club Executive and members. Our deepest sympathy to the Whatmore family. Christine was a member of the North Bay ProBus Club. Many people there already know her before she joined. Whether that be from her years of teaching at Algonguin Composite High School, St. John's Anglican Church, Global travel...etc. She was well known throughout the North Bay Community in all she gave. Her presence will be missed by many. Rest in Peace Christine. ProBus connecting to the Family, through Bonnie Parslow

My condolences to Christine's family. My parents and Christine had lively discussions when at church or at our home when she delivered the Diviner or other paperwork. She was kind to my parents and she was lovely to me when each of my parents' passed. She thought it great that she had a sister Janet and I had a sister Christine! We may not have shared the same opinions, but there was always respect. Christine & Mike were generous friendly people and enriched a great many lives through education and the church. May Christine rest in peace with Mike.

Chris Whatmore was an excellent teacher and guidance counselor. She was a pleasure to work with and was always eager to talk about her students and how they were doing in my math class. She helped many many pupils. A great person and staff member.

Memories of Auntie Christine A kind and caring lady with strong views many of which I did not share but which prompted lively discussion and debate, who along with my Uncle Mike contributed widely to support and help induvial and communities across the world, especially those of faith. Of great importance to them was the Anglican Church and their particular parish of St John the Divine in Northbay. As a child there was always great excitement when parcels from my exotic Aunt and Uncle arrived from Canada, and even more excitement when they visited in person and gave slide shows and told stories of the far flung places they had visited. In more recent years I have fond memories of my visits and travels with Auntie Chris and the people I have met through her, I will always be grateful that I had these opportunities. God bless love Mary (Jeffrey)x

Though it was some time since we last met in person there are many memories from my childhood that will live on. The phrase Bag Lady will forever bring fond loveable memories of times together. Your contagious zest for enjoying moments with the people around you will live on and I will always take the advice to take the opportunities presented and to make the most of experiences. God Bless you Auntie Christine your quirky personality always made me feel that it is ok to be a little different, to be true to ones self even if its strange to the rest of the world, I will miss our pen pal time. Safe travels xx

My memory of Mrs. Whatmore is one of a woman possessing a keen intellect and a deep sense of compassion for those in need. That she became a teacher is not surprising. I learned so much from her and these lessons would be invaluable to me in my later years as a secondary teacher. From her flair for the exotic, (who can forget the Hindu Cultural Experience in her World Religions course), to her excitement and joy, driving us in a minivan through the back roads of Southern England, her stamp of unbridled enthusiasm was always present. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have known her in my life and can only imagine how deeply missed she will be by her family and close friends, around the world.

The good work that Christine did will always serve as an inspiration to me, and to those who knew her. In all weather, she worked so hard to collect the many bottles that when added up, provided significant funds to St. John the Devine. We will miss her visits, and her many stories. Rest well Christine.
