I would like to offer condolences to the family for the passing of Peggy, a long-time friend of mine. After my family came to Canada in 1955, we settled in North Bay and became part of the community. My husband Jim and my son Jeff would attend soccer games at Lee Park. I recall it was mostly the Brits, Italians and Germans playing, as soccer was not that popular in Canada at the time. I believe Peg's husband Walter was president of the league, and he and Jim soon became friends. It was through this friendship that I met, and became good friends with Peggy. We remained friends over the years, My daughter Linda and I were invited to Peggy's 100th birthday celebration and I recall the joy in Peggy's face as she listened to the bagpipes play Happy Birthday. I'll remember her sense of humour and smile. We had many laughs together and as we grew older, we would spent time on the phone recalling our trips back to England and Scotland. May Peggy rest in peace. Peggy Turl Peggy's son Jeff here. I would like to add my condolences to the family also. I remember both Walter and Peggy visiting the house and what good friends they became with Mum and Dad. Sorry to hear of her passing.
