I have so many fond memories of being in Mrs. Campbell's grade 6 class. From memorizing poetry, dictating spelling lists and doing a project about Samuel de Champlain.
Mrs. Campbell's grade 5/6 class was in a portable and one day, we could hear an interesting sound coming from the outside. We all dashed to the windows to see my little brother, David, with a stick in his hand, running along side of the portable, dragging the stick along the siding! Since it was almost lunchtime, and in 'those days' everyone went home for lunch, Mrs. Campbell remained very calm and let me go home early! (David would have been about 3 years old and we lived across the large field, at the end of Gladstone Avenue. Our mom hadn't noticed that David had 'escaped'!
As a teacher myself, I often tell that story to my students.
