Eli was one of my instructors at CFB Borden when I was training to be a cook. That was in early 1975. Because his family was in North Bay at the time and mine were in Powassan, he kindly drove me home on weekends that I was able to leave the base. It helped when I was partularly homesick. Always ready with a hug and the nicest smiles. A proud Canadian immigrant and a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces. I will miss you my friend.
