Obituary of Doris Annie Watson

Watson: Doris Annie (née Riddell) August 6, 1915 – December 29, 2011 Surrounded by the love of her family, Doris passed away at The North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday, December 29th, at the age of 96. Doris was preceded by Ivan, her loving husband of 64 years in March 2000, her son Myles in December 1995, & by brothers Russell, Jim, Roy, Wilmer (survived by Letita) & Vern (survived by Dwyla MacPherson). Doris is survived by her children Vernon (Shirley) of Mount Forest, Bruce (Bernie) of North Bay, Betty (Don Praill) of Amherstburg, Helen (Larry Jeanneault) of Tunis, and Norma (Bob O'Hare) of North Bay. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren & 4 great-great grandchildren. Doris had a very fulfilled life of family, travel, gardening, and handcrafting, was a Ladies' Shriner and a member of The Ladies' Oriental Shrine of North America. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate & caring nursing staff & doctors of NBRHC who made Momma's last nine days as dignified as possible and made the family members their first priority. Also our appreciation to The Barclay House, Community Care Access Centre & Eastholme. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Tuesday January 3rd, 2012 from 11:00 am until time for a memorial service to be held in the chapel at 3:00pm.
