I was greatly saddened to hear of Eva's passing. I came to meet Eva when I stayed with her and two of her Centennials billets in their first year - both of who were my childhood friends. She welcomed me with her usual friendliness and energy that I came to later have the pleasure of being around more frequently. Little did I know but in another month, I would be called up to the Cents and end up staying at Eva's home for the next 3 years. She made the grind of being away from home, riding the buses and the ups and downs of a teenage hockey player more enjoyable. There was never a dull moment - a late night game of euchre, bowling night and always a cheering voice in the stands. It was great people like Eva who make the junior hockey experience for these young men - loving and warm surrogate parent who didn't care what you did on the ice, just a supporting adult for the good and the bad times. I wish I could find the picture of Eva drinking out of the Molson Cup and burning my long distance bill with the proceeds (it was the early 80's). Always a twinkle in her eye and a laugh. How she put up with the cast of characters that stayed with her is mind boggling. So Eva, I raise a beer to you in your honour, knowing that somewhere, there is an never ending game of euchre being played. Thank you! Love Peter Abric

Margaret, Chris, Andrew and I would like you to know how much Eva meant to our family and she was an anchor to all of the families on Brookes street. She never thought of herself as a senior, she always approached life as if she was still a youngster. She will truly live on in our memories.
