Obituary of Ronald Charles Weeks

Dr. Ron Weeks, If you measure the wealth of a man's life by the number of tears that are shed at his passing, Ron was a very rich man. After a difficult battle with cancer over the last two and a half years which he faced with courage and a minimum of complaints, Ron died peacefully surrounded by love. He was a most beloved husband of Barb, cherished father of Andrew and Christina (Davis), embraced father-in-law to Tina and Andrew and the most amazing grandfather to Ben and Adam, Bryn and Paige. He also leaves a brother David of Toronto. Ron was an influential science educator, inspiring generations of learners in many venues from elementary, to secondary, to university level ending his rich career at Nipissing University. His book, "A Child's World of Science and Technology" has been carried into countless classrooms and inspired many young minds to pursue careers in science and technology. He was an almost 50 year volunteer in the The National Science Fairs program and served as Chief Judge at the Canada Wide Science Fair. He leaves his friends and family with great holes in their hearts which will be repaired over time by the memories of the gentle, kind and loving life he lead. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place . A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. If desired donations to the charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
