They say that laughter is the best medicine. Well, I got enough medicine to last a lifetime with all the laughing I got to experience being in the company of John Doyle Sr. I got to know him best on the golf course. You get to know people when you spend four hours with them trying to put a tiny ball into a tiny hole. He would be in my foursome with Dr. Griffin and John Jr. The one thing I loved about Mr. Doyle was his great temperament. If he hit a great shot, he would have a smile from ear to ear. If he duffed one, he would make a wise crack that would put a smile on my face. Then we would all start laughing. He is exactly the type of person each one of us should strive to be. Be humble, be courteous, be kind and take time to put a smile on someone's face. I've never met someone like him. I doubt I ever will. I hope the family finds comfort in knowing how much he was loved by all and how he brought so much sunshine into everyone's life. God bless, Curt Rush, Toronto

Mrs Doyle and family. Deepest condolences to all of you. While Birchwood Rd. will never be the same, we are all very privileged to have known Mr. Doyle and the world is a better place as a direct result of him. Every encounter brought smiles and laughter. Rest in peace Mr. Doyle.

With great sadness, we read of Mr. Doyle's passing. I will always remember his great laugh, huge presence, warm hugs and lovingly teasing nature. Growing up on Birchwood Road with the 'gang' was a joy! Some of best memories were of playing hide and go seek and Mr. Doyle helping us hide from the older kids by either singing a song to hide our noise or telling them that we went the other way. He was a great neighbour to my mom and dad. He often teased my dad about his political affiliation and threatened to swap political signs on his lawn. He will be missed in the neighbourhood and fondly remembered by all. Blessing to Mrs. Doyle and his children and grandchildren.

Carol, Corey, Craig and the entire Doyle family ~ Przemek and I are so sad to hear about the loss of your father and grandfather (and a husband, great-grandfather, brother...). Although we only had the pleasure of meeting him a few times, it was always truly a 'pleasure'. The sparkle and warmth in his eyes, his kind and positive energy, and his playful and lively nature (still at the age of 92!) made him a joy to be around. Please know that we are thinking of all of you, and keeping you close in our hearts and thoughts. We hope that the comfort, love and support of family and friends will help you through the next few days, weeks and months...xo

This message is for the entire Doyle family. So sorry for your loss. I just leaned of the news yesterday. I was blessed in this life to have known John Sr. and a more noble, kinder man I have never known. I enjoyed our times playing golf. He always made it fun and you could never be serious about the game when he was in your foursome. He smiled at the good shots and laughed at the bad. It's a golfing temperament I always strived for, but could never quite achieve. He was always nice to me. He was as close to a saint as one could expect. What a great role model for his children and extended family. I see his smile and generosity of spirit in the lives of those family members he left behind. God bless you all. I'm thinking of you and praying you find comfort in each other as you pay your respects to this special man. Curt Rush, Toronto
