Obituary of Murray Ellis Cooper Hague
It is with broken hearts, the family of Murray announce that he passed into the loving arms of his Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday April 9, 2015 at the age of 75. He was preceded by his parents, Norman Cecil Hague1942 & Lorna Genevieve Stackhouse 2002, Stepfather Roy Stackhouse 1969, sister Norma Sisson 2003. Survived by his brother Ron Stackhouse (Jan). Murray Hague was the beloved husband of Sandra Jean Norman Hague, loving father to Lisa Patry (Mario) and Leslie Hague (Natalie, Chali & Maude). Forever cherished by his grandchildren Don Murray Norman Landry, Daniel Stanley Albert Landry & Elliot Sandra Jean Hague as well as many sisters/brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. Murray was born September 30, 1939 in Haliburton County, where he received his elementary and secondary education. Murray graduated from the Metro Toronto Police College in 1964 while working for the Metro Toronto Police Force 41 Division. From 1964-70 he worked at 52 Division as a 1st class constable, as well as in plain clothes and passed qualifying exams for Patrol Sergeant. In 1970, Murray joined the North Bay Police force and he was a uniformed officer for 4 years, then he transferred to Criminal Investigations. In 1984, Murray was in charge of the Juvenile Branch responsible to the inspector. He spent the remainder of his career in uniform. In 1984 Murray received The POLICE EXEMPLARY SERVICE MEDAL fro 20 years of loyal and meritorious service to law enforcement in Canada. Throughout his career Murray acquired numerous Ontario Police College Diplomas for a broad range of training investigation and management courses. In 1993 Murray received his second EXEMPLARY SERVICE AWARD for 30 years of service. In 1994 he received the North Bay Police Association MERIT AWARD. Murray was a member of the International Police Association from 1965 to his retirement in 1994. Murray lived life to the fullest, was a member of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada & enjoyed stamp collecting. He was and avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his garden and travelling during his lifetime. His most favourite place in the world was at the family cottage on McQuaby Lake. Murray was so appreciative of the exemplary care received from the staff of the Sudbury and North Bay Regional Hospitals, the support of Bethel Gospel Chapel, as well as family and friends during his illness. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday April 12, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held at Bethel Gospel Chapel, Monday April 13, 2015 at 11am followed by the Internment at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre, Cancer Society, Bethel Building Fund or a charity of your choice will be acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
