Earl and I were saddened to hear of our friend Jack's passing. He was a fine gentleman, well-loved and admired by all who knew him. We have two ways of remembering people who leave us and start another journey. We either cry over their absence or smile and remember them through the countless memories that have stayed back. I'm sure Jack wants you to smile forever. Life's journey takes us on many paths. We will pray that your family finds strength and love through this time of your painful loss and your days ahead.Jack will be missed but remembered by so many. RIP Jack and love and God speed on your journey. With Deepest Sympathy, Earl and Cathy Forestell

Our sincere condolences to Jack's friends and family. I didn't know John well personally, but over the years he was a great friend to my mother. When she lived in North Bay on her own I knew I never had to worry about being so far away because Jack was always there for her, looking out for her. He was a thoughtful, kind and devoted friend. He will be missed.

To Jacks' entire family we are so sorry for your loss. What a marvel Jack was. He was by far the kindest and most caring man. He will be greatly missed. Also, on behalf of my father and mother Bill and Ethel Ennis, they too send their heartfelt sympathies. Jack and my father worked together years ago. What a pair they were. Rest in peace.

Our Deepest Sympathy to the Mackie Family. We are so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. He was a great guy who loved people and would do anything to help you. He cherished his loving pal Casey and treated him like a member of the family. This says a lot about Jack's character, if you love a pet that much, you have to be a super person and that he was. Jack is at peace now and no longer suffering. God Bless him, he will always be remembered in a kind hearted way.

Jack, I will miss you. What a great loss for your family, friends and your city. I will never forget the laughs and fun growing up. From Bec and I wrapped up in blankets playing with your 'Zach Morris' state of the art cell phone in the back of your convertible because we insisted riding with the top down even in the cooler months - which of course you were happy to indulge us with. Or even at home where you made dinnertime fun and Bec would step on your foot to open the 'garbage can' so you could help with the leftovers. Don't worry, we will all be there for Bec, Ana and Billy - especially during this difficult time. My condolences to the Mackie family who grieving a big loss in the family. As Lonna mentioned yesterday, your friends were also part of your family and the Hillcoats certainly felt you to be a part of ours. Lots of love, Jack. Lindsay
