Obituary of Mary Winifred Alger

ALGER – Mary Winifred The Alger family announces the passing into spirit of their beloved mother Wynne on Monday December 9th, 2013, peacefully at home surrounded by her family, at the age of 91. She was the dearly loved and devoted wife of Cliff who predeceased her in 2008. At the time of his death they had been married for 64 years. The proud and loving mother of John (Sharon) of Napanee, Maxine Bridges (John) of North Bay, Noreen Mackowiak (Herb) of Copper Cliff, Judith Fitzsimons (Dan) of Toronto, Robert (Elisa MacFarlane) of North Bay and Ken of Kitchener. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren Andrew Alger, Michael Grange, Peter Alger, Nora Taylor, Kirk Dodds, Erica Easton, Jennifer Crozier, Amanda Alger, Ian Alger, Jason Alger, Cody MacFarlane, & Kassandra Alger, and her twenty great grandchildren. The last surviving member of her immediate family she was predeceased by her brothers Ronald and Samuel and her sister Nora. Wynne came to Canada as a war bride in 1946 and settled into family life in North Bay shortly after. A devoted wife and mother she will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Wynne’s life will be held in Trinity United Church at 11:00am Thursday December 12, 2013, with a reception to follow. Interment of ashes will take place in Terrace Lawn Cemetery in the spring. If desired donations to Trinity Church will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
