Dear Barb, Carolyn and Sean I'm very sorry for your loss. Tom will be missed by many people. It was an honour for me to have grown up as his neighbour. I have very fond memories of him. I watched with great admiration from the window in my basement (where i practiced many hours on the piano)as his various projects came to fruition through his many skills. When I left home, it was a great source of comfort to me that my mother had such a good friend living next door. My deepest sympathy to all the family.

We so enjoyed Tom's wonderful kind heart, like the time he offered to take Mom to her 90th birthday party in high style in his model T.That ride made her day! Tom enjoyed making someone happy also with his humor. We always looked forward to Tom & Barbara's return to their winter Florida home.We are so glad to have known this very special person. Our church here in Florida, St John the Divine in Sun City and Ruskin, used to regularly hold small dinner groups. Places where people could get together and meet Newcomers to our church. I remember remarking at how beautiful the furniture was. His wife had to be the one to tell me Tom had built most of it. So modest and quiet. We will miss hom very much.

My condolences to the family. Mr. Clare was one of the best teachers I had, he taught architectural drafting. I always thought of him when someone mentioned how neat my printing was or joked about the fact that I always wrote in capitals. He taught us to take pride in the work we did. Dear Barbara and family It was a shock to see the notice in the Nugget of Tom's passing. I worked at WFSS for 21 years as a secretary, with Tom and he was one of the nicest, quietest, kindest teacher there. I quite often typed his exams and did occassional typing for him as well. He was a giant of a man, and he will be missed.

Hi Barb, Carolyn, Sean and families. We were saddened to hear of Tom's sudden passing. we are all thinking of you from Ottawa and are unable to get back to the Bay for the visitation or funeral. Our fondest memory of Tom was his willingness to share his model T for our wedding over 20yrs ago. It was so wonderful to have him drive us around on our special day.
