Dear Adelaide, Chris, Felix and Martin, We are deeply saddened to learn of Fred's passing.Fred was a regular guest in our home for many years. We will miss his company, stories and always interesting conversation. Fred delighted in spending time with our children; reading, playing board games, sharing a cup of tea. He was always interested in their studies, travels and sports. We will hold his memory in our hearts. With Love, Sandy, Martin, Robyn, Mackenzie, Marissa and Colin

I met Fred for the first time in 1978 during my first year in Forestry at Lakehead University - Chris and I were classmates and friends. There were 4 of us (Fred, Chris, Rick and I) having diner at a restuarant. Just as our desert cake came, I excused myself to go to the bathroom. Upon returning my cake was gone. I thought it was Chris or Rick that had ate it and made some accusations, but i soon realized that no one had eaten it but were hiding it, so i tried to figure out who had it. After a minute trying to figure out who had it, Fred produced the cake and said I had done well! Apparently i was part of a good natured experiment. I ate my cake and we continued to be friends ever since.

Chris, Adelaide, Felix & Martin. Your father was a thoughtful guy, and I always had interesting discussions with him. I've known him (and Chris) for about 35 years. I am sorry to hear of his passing, and offer on my sincere condolences.
