Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Petrie

PETRIE – Dorothy Elizabeth (nee Norman) Dorothy passed away peacefully at Cassellholme, with her family by her side, on Monday March 12, 2012 at the age of 89. Born December 1, 1922 to Esther and Stanley Norman, she was predeceased by her husband Jack and her son Wayne. She is survived by her devoted son Paul. Dorothy will be dearly missed by her sister Grace (Gord) Brose, brothers Orville (Jean) Norman, Leonard (Vi) Norman, and Larry (Dorothy) Norman, and her sister in law Luella Norman. A special “Mother” to Doris Hannah (Candice, Samantha and Jessica), she is also survived by two grandsons Cory and Ryan Petrie, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, her brother Harry Norman, her sister Birdie (Bertha) Crawford and her nephew George Hannah. Friends may call at Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday March 15, from 1:00pm until time for a memorial service to be held in the chapel at 2:30pm. Reception to follow in the funeral home reception centre. Cremation with spring interment in the family plot in Terrace Lawn Cemetery.
