Obituary of Richard Stephen Brooks

BROOKS, Stephen Richard “Dick” -January 2nd, 2012. Peacefully Dick entered into the home and arms of his Heavenly Father. He was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis Alma McConaghy. Loving father of Rod Brooks and his wife Anna, Lynne Roy and her husband Maurice, Patti Brooks all of North Bay and Marcie Desrosiers and her husband Ron of Sudbury. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Tammy, Mark, Tyler, Jill, Amber, Katie, Amy, Sam, Christy, Kailynn, Lara, Chad, Stephen, Sasha and great grandchildren Noah, Clara, Jonah, Maria, Daniel and Katie. Dick was predeceased by his parents Leo and Gladys Brooks and by his siblings Ted, John, Jim and Elsie. Dick was born in South River and married Phyllis there in January of 1948. He owned and operated the South River Garage for many years. The family moved to North Bay in the late 60’s and he worked at both North Bay and Ferris Auto Electric. Visitation will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7-9:00 PM and at Lakeshore Missionary Church (656 Lakeshore Drive North Bay) on Thursday, January 5th from 9:30 until time for a Funeral Service in the Sanctuary at 11:00 am. Spring interment at the South River Cemetery.
