Obituary of Mervyn St. Amand

ST. AMAND, MERVYN At the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday October 31, 2011 in his 96th year. Loving father of Marilyn Menard (Pierre) of North Bay, Glenn (Linda) of Niagara Falls and Shawna Kirkpatrick (Ken) of St. George, Ont. Sadly missed by grandchildren Michelle, Jayson and Lindsay and great grandson Everett. Survived by his sister Norma Blayney of North Bay. Predeceased by his first wife Jean, brothers Phillip and Earl and sister Bernice Falske. Also missed by his second family, loving wife Celia, and her children Tim Walker of Fort St. John, B.C., Cathy Taylor (Lee) of Sudbury, Laurie Mantha (Brian) of North Bay and Tracey Knight (Trevor) also of North Bay. Grandchildren Michael (Jennifer), Samantha (Mark), Tanya, Shane, Jenna and Brody and great grandchildren Spencer, Christopher, Dakota, Devyn, Aisley and Layla. Mervyn will be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was very active in the community working with many local committees and organizations, especially the Lion's Club of North Bay and he was a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 445. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Omond Memorial United Church on Thursday at 11 am. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, and to honour Merv's dedication to the Terry McKerrow CAT Scan Fund, his family requests that donations be offered to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation as expressions of sympathy.
