To my cousins, Marilyn, Glen and Shawna So sorry for the loss of your Dad, he is one of the biggest memories I have of my childhood and some of the summers I spent in North Bay, and winters, we can't forget the winters! He will be missed by all of us, but his company will be appreciated in Heaven by his brothers, sister and Mom. When anyone remembers your Dad it will be with a smile on their face, he always made everyone smile! God Bless, your cousin Sam (Sandy) and her family.

I can't tell you when it was that Merv came into my life, it feels like he's been there all along. He has meant so much to so many people and has touched so many lives. I think what I admired most about him is his ability to love so deeply and ensure that those he loved knew exactly what they meant to him. He joined our family late in life after loosing his first great love to cancer and has been a pillar in our family ever since. In his 95 years he has accomplished so much. He served his country well in WWII, served his community through various Board of Directors positions more (the list is endless)
What I loved most about him is the positive impact he had on Spencer. I'll miss listening to them swap stories about fishing, and talking about politics, and how he took such an interest his evolving interests like rock collecting and various "business idea" He made my 10 year old boy feel like he could conquer the world and for that I am truly grateful.
Their aren't very many men in this world who can honestly say that they have been lucky in love not once but twice and I say that he got out of life what he put into it...a lot of love, laughter, hard work and selflessness.
He will be greatly missed and the memories greatly cherished by all who had the good fortune to know him.
I love you Merv and I take great comfort in knowing you'll continue watching over your loved ones from heaven!!! Rest in Peace!
