Suddenly at his home in Rutherglen on Saturday October 15, 2011, at the age of 59 years. For the last 37 years Manley has been the loving and devoted husband of Brenda Lyn Theberge. The proud and loving father of Dylan (Michelle) of Ottawa and Derek of London, he will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Dietrich, Oscar, and Elvy. The dear son of Ronald and Ruth (nee Shields) Ridsdale of London, Manley was predeceased by ten days by his father who died October 5. He will be sadly missed by his brothers John (Laurie) of Salmon Arm, B.C., Timothy (Sandra) of Stoney Point, and Morgan (Sherri) of Parry Sound, his sister Marion Brown (Allan) of Winnipeg, and his many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be sadly and sorely missed by his wife and family. Manley retired in 2006 as a supervisor in the signal division of the CPR after a more than 35 year career. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm. Funeral services will be held in the Martyn Chapel on Wednesday October 19th at 11:00 am. Manley’s Uncle, Rev. David Shields will officiate. Cremation to follow. If desired donations to the Heart & Stroke Fund will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
