It is with heavy hearts the Wilkes family announces Danny's passing with his family by his side at Cassellholme on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the age of 91. Son of the late Daniel Edward Wilkes and Ellen (nee Donaldson). Dearly loved husband and best friend of Joan (nee Duval) for the past 65 years. Loving father of Dan (Barb), Jodi (Barry Laking) and Nancy (Mark Hewitt). Loving grandfather (Bonka) to Tom, Alison, Brad, Courtney, Adam and great-grandfather to Tennyson. He will be missed by his sister-in-law Marie, nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Danny loved his family and was a great sportsman. A special thank you to Dr. Terry Rotondo, Cassellholme staff-CCAC and Blue Sky for their wonderful care. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated with no funeral or visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at the 406 Wing Royal Canadian Legion on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 1:00-5:00p.m. Donations in memory of Danny may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or Cassellholme.
