Contributions to the tribute of Eugene Arthur Joseph Séguin

I wanted to share some fond memories about my godparent, uncle Eugune. I carry his name in my name. I think about him every time I write my name. My memories really extend to both him and my aunt. When I was younger I would travel from Ottawa on the Greyhound bus. Once in Mattawa, I would walk over to aunty and uncle’s house. I looked forward to that every time. I have told this story to my kids over and over again. Once there, I would be greeted with so much love. Come in, they said. They always made me feel so special and welcomed. It made me feel so warm inside. It was never a long visit as I waited for my dad to come collect me. As I grew older, I had a family of my own. I always wanted to visit with them because they were so gentle and kind. I wanted my children to experience what I experienced each time I rode into town. What great role models for my kids. I remember his and her laugh as we engaged in conversation and I will miss how we would tease each other as we ate cookies. I will miss him dearly, so much. With love and great admiration. Maurice E.
