We offer our heartfelt condolences to Eric and all the family and to the parish family of St. Alban's, Mattawa. As members together of the college of clergy of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, we treasure memories of Karen, especially at clergy gatherings and the annual clergy conference. We were also privileged to visit her at St. Alban's when at the Lackey cottage.
Karen was a woman of devout faith; a deeply caring priest, with a wonderful sense of humour, who unfailingly revealed an indomitable spirit. We give thanks for her life and ministry and commit her to everlasting peace in Christ's nearer Presence.
The Ven. Susan Churchill-Lackey
The Rev. Canon Peter Lackey

Karen had a generosity of spirit that brought love, warmth, healing and joy to many...a person that brightened a room when she entered. I have included a picture of her and my Dad, Karen's Uncle Bud, shortly before he passed in 2014.

Gail Dowling cousin
As children we had great times going on picnics with our parents
After Sunday school we would all gather at Grandmother’s home and a family picnic would be planned. Then home to prepare and off we would go to Beaver Lake, Mohawk Beach or the sandbanks in Picton. After we grew up we didn’t stay in touch as much each having our own families. Karen married and moved then we had very little contact.
In 2019 Karen officiated at my mom’s funeral. Unfortunately, we had not kept in contact just the odd messenger note or Facebook post.
Karen will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Rest in peace dear cousin

I would like to offer my sympathies to Karen's family and her sister Diane, I grew up just up the street from Karen and her family when we lived on Thomas St, in Napanee, They were the nicest family one could ever meet, and I spent some time there as a young girl. Her mother and father were wonderful people and as Karen became a wife and mother and grandmother, I am sure she was the same, she had good role models to follow in the footsteps of.. Life seems so unfair sometimes and I know you must be heart broken, but remember to keep Karen and your memories in your heart and she will always be with you..
