Obituary of Helen Tripp
Helen Marie Tripp, mother, passed away on April 28, 2023, at the age of 81 after a long battle with Lewy Body dementia. She was born on June 29, 1941, on a German labour farm in Niweck, Poland. Helen and her family immigrated to Canada and moved to Kitchener at the age of nine before settling in North Bay in 1971.
Helen is predeceased by her husband John Tripp, sister Chris, brother Vince, mother Sophia, and Father Jan. She was a loving mother to her two children, Rick (Darlene Tripp) and Robin (Brenda Serbin), and a proud grandmother to Katherine, Bailey, and Jennifer. Helen was also a cherished sister to Ed and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Helen also has many family members in Poland.
Helen spent many years as a nurse and later a nuclear medicine technician at St. Joseph’s hospital in North Bay.
Helen was a Master Gardener as well as a member of the North Bay Horticultural Society, Callander Horticultural Society, the North Bay Heritage Gardeners, Polish Canadian Club as well as the Roman Catholic Woman’s League. Helen and John were avid travellers and curlers.
We are eternally grateful for the wonderful and compassionate care Helen received at Eastholme Home for the Aged.
Funeral arrangements are managed by Martyn Funeral Home. Public visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 on Tuesday May 2nd. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 3rd at 10:30 am at St. Peter the Apostle church.
Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, Northeast would be welcome.
