Obituary of Joan Elizabeth Lillian Alexander
Joan Elizabeth Lillian Alexander
It is with great sadness that the family of Joan announce her passing at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice, on Sunday, February 5th, 2023, she was 76 years old. Loving mother of Sandra Pappano (Len) and Terry Alexander (Margaret). She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Courtney, Carlie, Hayden, Nicole, Brittney, and by her great grandson Lincoln.
Joan was a strong, independent woman who dedicated her life to her family, friends, and career. Her fun and vibrant personality always managed to brighten any room she entered, and her quick wit was enjoyed by all who knew her.
Beginning her career as a travel agent in Pembroke, she moved to North Bay in 1981 where she continued to work in the travel industry there. Known for her attention to detail and deep commitment to her clients, Joan quickly established a reputation for excellence, and worked tirelessly for her clients, well into her seventies. A travel enthusiast herself, Joan was always looking for an adventure, and never passed up the opportunity to experience different countries and cultures, often including her friends and family on her trips.
Joan was a very proud mother and grandmother who valued time with her family above all else. She will be deeply missed by all.
We would like to thank Dr. Stacy, Dr. Moore and the staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. The family is also grateful for the wonderful care that she received in her final days from the North Bay Serenity Hospice staff.
Visitation for Joan will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 8th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A Private Interment Service will be held later. If desired, donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be appreciated by her family.
