To the Burke & Cotnam families.
We are so sorry to hear of your mom's and grandmother's passing. May your memories help to comfort you at this difficult time. I also hope that you all stay strong knowing she is in a better place. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
My Deep sympathy to the family from niece Denyse Guilbeault-Chong and 3 children. I only have good memories of both tante Pierrette and uncle Melvin that I will cherish forever. It was always a pleasure to be in their presence. I truly miss them both and think of them. I will also lit a candle for them. From Denyse GC
The family of Nicole Guilbeault-Blais (daughter of Abiny Guilbeault, brother of Pierrette) wishes to convey to Pierrette's children and grandchildren, and to all those who knew her, their most sincere condolences and sympathy for this sudden loss which afflicts you. Be assured of our prayers and our spiritual presence, so that your mourning may unfold in peace and serenity. We keep warm memories of our visit to her home in the summer of 2022 and of other visits in past years. His living environment was an inescapable stop on our way to Cochrane. Dear Perry, Angela and Peter,
I am deeply sadden to hear about the loss of your mom. For many years I would visit her yearly and she was always generous with her time to my family and my girls, always welcoming even when your dad was ill. Your mom became my defacto mom. I told her as much. It brought me much comfort and meant a lot. I will miss our little visits. She would always talk about you guys. During my last visits we talked about, among other things, when she, my mom and aunt Georgette worn ribbons skirts and remembered seeing the teepees at the point.
I believe, Creator, in the most gentle of ways, with great love and warmth is leading your mom home to be reunited with her family and be among our ancestors. She will love it! I will hold a sacred smudge using powerful medicines in your family's name and in Her honour. I will pray for a peaceful and beautiful journey. I will say these words among others: G’zaagiin (meaning; I love you). Please accept my deepest sympathies. Rest easy Aunt Pierrette. Bamaapii (meaning; we will see you again}.
