My sincerest condolences to the family. I had the pleasure of spending a weekend speckled trout fishing with Ken and his son Bill a few years ago. He was a gentleman's gentleman who had a great sense of humor along with a knack for catching fish. I probably drove him crazy asking questions but he didn't seem to mind. It was a memorable weekend with a special individual, one that I will always remember with fondness.

My deepest condolences to the family. Dr Asselstine was my mother’s surgeon back in 1981 and I have never forgotten him. His care and compassion made her final days more comfortable. I have lived in three different provinces and dealt with many health care professionals since and no one compares.

My condolences. I hope the many memories of your father help you and your family through this difficult time. Peter, you always had a good tale to share about your Dad. I know your father liked poetry. When my Mom passed someone read this poem by Henry Scott Holland and it has stuck with me...
"Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!"
Sincerely,
Sherri Hamilton-Houston

Sincere condolences
I had the pleasure of working with your Dad from 1979 till retirement
He was always a gentleman and looked like he was dressed from GQ
Those were some of the best years working along side of him in the OR.
He often spoke about his family, especially when his children were off to university and planning their future careers
Also, he spoke of his leisure time at the cottage, though it did sound like hard work but to him it was fun
May you all cherish the good memories of your Dad
Sincere sympathies
Diane Szewczyk
