I met Marie only once but I'll never forget her kindness and amazing energy. I felt so welcomed and comfortable in her home even being the shy, anxious child I was. She also left a lasting impact on my mother Denise. She often talks about her, Hector, and their dog Toby. She has many fond memories of them from her childhood. Her favourite was watching Marie feed Toby mints, or 'nanans' she'd call them. She made sure my mom never went pepsi-less either! Marie will be missed by so many. I hope she's continuing her dance in heaven for all the rest of the angels to see. - Theresa Roy's granddaughter, Hannah

Madame Laporte,
We met many years ago when I was very little but her smile will never be forgotten. I would visit my aunt and would always receive an update about her neighbor Madame Laporte. Her heart did touch every sole she met.
My sincere condolences to her family. Corina (Wilson) Parisien

I am so saddened to read that my mom’s cousin Marie has passed away. I only met Marie when I moved to North Bay in 1979. I met her through my grandmother (Marie’s matante) Beatrice (Groulx) Gauthier.
Marie was an angel to our family as I learned that she had been taking care of my grandmother - taking her to appointments, groceries, etc. The more I got to know Marie, the more we became family. I spent so much time at her house. I loved my time playing cards with Hector.
I got married and moved to Kapuskasing in ‘83 but I always stopped in to say hi to Marie whenever I visited in North Bay.
She loved her family so much. She will be missed.
Hugs and condolences to all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
