Margueritte enjoyed downhill skiing at Laurentian and Mt Antoine Ski Hills, playing tennis with Lakeshore Tennis Club and golfing at Clear Springs Golf Club after retirement, to keep up with husband Gerry. After retiring in May 1995, Margueritte got even busier, travelling the world-Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Zambia, appreciating the culture and history of Europe and Africa.
Suffering a debilitating Stroke in March 2016, Marg spent the rest of her life in a wheel-chair, which did not slow her spirit. She was admitted to Long Term Care at Cassellholme in October 2016, where she enjoyed visits with her family and friends, outings around the grounds, teas and bingo activities, “anything to improve her mood.”
Mom will always be remembered for her love of family, her kindness and generosity, her recipes for veggie supreme, monster cookies and butter tarts, and her wonderful sense of humour.
The Martin family would like to express sincere gratitude to our precious cousins and family friends for visits at Cassellholme and Hospital, where we all shared precious memories of Margueritte’s generous soul. Special thank you to staff at Cassellholme, Third floor for their loving care of our mother and grandmother during the past almost 2 years.
