Obituary of Robert William Penner

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Penner on July 11, 2023, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Robert lost his battle with illness surrounded by his loving family. He was 69 years old.

Robert was born on August 16, 1953, in Toronto, Ontario. He was the son of Violet Penner and grew up with siblings Blanche, Bertha, Bernard, and Glen. Robert loved spending time with his family, especially his wife of 46 years, Brenda, and their children David, Jonathan, Sandra, and Candace (Scott), and their grandchildren Hannah, Gregory, Bentley, Ryland, and Mya.

Robert spent most of his career at Tembec from 1979 to 2017, where he was known for his hardworking nature and dedication to his job. Outside of work, Robert enjoyed fishing with his son, and they always had a competition to see who could catch the biggest fish. He also had a dark sense of humor that brightened everyone's day.

Robert will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings. He was predeceased by his mother, Violet, and siblings Bertha and Bernard.

As per Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the Canadian Cancer Society. Robert's memory will live on through the love and memories he shared with those who knew him best.
