FERNAND, CHAPUT

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fernand Chaput on May 27, 2023, at the Mattawa Hospital with all of his family by his side.

Fern was the beloved husband of 60 years to Dianne, devoted father to Wayne (Collette), Cathy (Peter), and Todd (Brigitte). Loving grandfather to Jennifer (Kyle), Jesse, Courtney (Owen), Brittany (Tye) and two great grandchildren Charlee and Myles.

Survived by his brother Lloyd (Betty) and his brother-in-law’s Bernie and Robert. Fern will be deeply missed by his best friend and dog, Tippy, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Fern had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, frequently enjoying fishing and hunting. He was also an avid camper who cherished any opportunity to spend time with his kids. Fern was known to have a great time playing cards and cribbage and always enjoyed hanging out with everyone. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted person who loved spending time with those he cared about.

A Memorial Service for Fern will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 11:00am at St. Anne’s Church in Mattawa.

Donations in Fern’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
