Obituary of William Lawrence Curry

Died at the North Bay General Hospital – Scollard Site, on Monday, December 6th, 2010. Bill was the beloved husband for 63 years to Shirley Genevieve (nee Armstrong), he was 85 years old. Loving father of Greg Curry (Corinne Lazurko) of La Ronge, Saskatchewan, Jan Wilson of Toronto and Lynda Sjolin (Ken) of North Bay. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Raquel, Lindsey, Karlee, Jill and Lainey. Bill was predeceased by his parents James and Mabel Curry and by his brother Jack. He served with the Royal Canadian Airforce during WWII. On March 27th, 1948 Bill and Shirley were married at Sudbury. He worked for 34years for Ontario Hydro (Hydro One), retiring in 1983. Bill was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #599 (West Ferris). Respecting the family’s wishes a Private Family Service will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home. Bill’s ashes will be interred in the family plot next spring at the North Bay Union Cemetery.
