Obituary of Lonna Mary Mackie
Lonna Mary Mackie
May 17 1944 - May 7 2018. Lonna died peacefully just before her 74th birthday, boldly outliving an incurable cancer prognosis with humour, independence and an immense amount of courage. Predeceased by her husband Kenneth Jabour, parents Mary Helene Mackie and Joseph Alonzo Mackie, and her younger brother Jack William Mackie. Lonna will always be lovingly remembered by her children Lenni Jabour (Simon Tuplin) and Joseph Jabour (Heather Taylor), her treasured grandchildren Nadege, Anik and Vivian, her beloved brother Frank Mackie, and dear nieces Brandi and Kortni. Lonna will be deeply missed by her many cousins - especially Kathaleen Dudson and Christine Jenkins, who were like sisters to her; as well as her many wonderful friends (Bea, Selma and Danyka are held with true specialness).
Lonna’s family wishes to thank Dr. Richard Senior, Dr. Michael Leckie and the North East LHIN (especially Cameron Boak) for their excellent care. A private gathering will be held in celebration of Lonna, by the lake she grew up on and loved. Donations to Serenity Hospice in Lonna’s name would be gratefully acknowledged and appreciated.
