MENARD – Matthew Mike
With broken hearts the Menard family sadly announce the unexpected death of their dear son and brother Matthew. Matthew was taken from us in an automobile accident on Monday April 23rd, a week after his 20th birthday. The dear son of Denis and Holley Menard (nee Laplante), he will be forever remembered by his brother Michel (Taryn) and sister Christa (Pat Brochu). Predeceased by his grandparents Hector and Ruth Laplante and Aurel and Marie Menard. Matthew will also be sadly missed by his aunts and uncles Laurette Pepin (Romeo), Pierre Menard (Carol), Jackie Champagne (Donald), Gerald Menard, Louise St. Amour (Mark), Teresa Dupuis (Don), Robert Menard (Jeanette), Aline Shank (Ulysse), Claire Mijatovic (Joe), Debbie Glenn, Doug Laplante, and his many cousins. He was predeceased by his uncles Victor Menard and Clarence Laplante. He will be forever remembered by his numerous friends and teammates, too many to mention and by his best friend Ty Maurice. Matthew was a graduate of Scollard Hall (2016), and the Electrical Tech program at Canadore College (2017) and was just finishing the Plumbing Tech program at the college, expecting to graduate in May. Born and raised in Bonfield he loved to fish and play guitar. A gifted athlete, he played volleyball, basketball and hockey, playing for the Scollard Hall Bears. Friends are invited to join with his family during visitation at the Bonfield Community Center on Friday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Eglise de Sainte Bernadette, Bonfield, at 11:00am Saturday April 28, 2018. Spring interment will take place in Bonfield. If desired, donations in Matthew’s memory to the Serenity hospice will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Online condolences at www.martynfh.com
