Obituary of Rita Elizabeth Backer

It is with great sorrow the family announces Rita’s passing at the Algonquin Nursing Home, Mattawa on November 11, 2014 at the age of 86. Rita was predeceased by her parents Jim and Annette Backer and her brother Doug. She is survived by her sister, Yvette (Kitsy) Rymes and many nieces and nephews. Rita graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, North Bay in 1950, spending most of her career in Seven Islands and Port Cartier, Quebec. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anne’s Parish in Mattawa, on Friday at 11 am. Donations in memory of Rita to St. Anne’s Church would be greatly appreciated.
