Obituary of Thomas Henderson Arthur Wright

The Wright family sadly announces Tom’s death at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday, June 9th, 2014, at the age of 90 years. For the past 71 years, Tom has been the dearly loved and devoted husband of Lolo Jean (nee McAfee), whom he married at Heathcote on April 10, 1943. The proud and loving father of Sharron Thomson & her husband Ted, Patti Bentley, Linda Wright, and Lori Venasse and her husband Michael, all of North Bay. He will also be lovingly remembered by his 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his son James and by his sisters Irene Richards and Margaret Georgina Bygrave. Tom joined the air force in 1942 at 19 and retired as pilot at the rank of Major 28 years later. He then enjoyed a 10 year career in real estate as a broker with Marcotte Realty. A dedicated husband and father, Tom was also a faithful member of Omond Memorial United Church. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 2 – 4 pm & 7 -9 pm. Funeral service to celebrate Tom’s life will be held in Omond Memorial United Church on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 11 am. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to the NADY – PADDLE Program or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
