RISK - Robert
With great sorrow, the family announces the passing of Robert (Bob) Risk on June 7th, 2013 in his 85th year. He was a devoted loving husband of Beverley nee Taylor. Bob had a courageous battle with lung cancer for 450 days.
Bob was the proud father of two sons, Randy and his wife Connie, Ottawa and Brian, North Bay. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his only grandchild Mackenzie, daughter of Brian, Ottawa.
Bob was predeceased in death by his parents Duncan and Jeanie Risk, 3 brothers Bill, Dunc, and Jack and one sister Jean Barry. He will be sadly missed by his sister Kay Lentine of Toronto as well as in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Bob was a 49 year employee of Loblaws North Bay, holding the position of store manager for 25 years. He served as Club Representative for the Family Forerunners, a Loblaw pensioner organization.
Bob was a popular personality in the North Bay sports scene, having played fastball, baseball, bowling, and golf. He was a proud member of the North Bay Golf and Country Club and the Pinewood Golf Club. He was an inductee into the North Bay Sports Hall of Fame. He won many individual and team championships.
Bob was blessed with a long life of good health, a loving family, and a wonderful sense of humour.
Bob wished there to be a cremation, a private family gathering, and future burial of his and Beverley’s ashes together in the family plot at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. A private family tribute is being planned.
For those who wish, donations may be made to a charity of your choice and will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
