Obituary of Ernest Rynard Wunsch

Wunsch – Ernest Rinard It is with great sadness we announce the death of our dear old dad, Ernest Rinard Wunsch on April 27, 2015, in his 97th year. Born May 30, 1918 in Calvin Township, Mattawa, ON. Predeceased in 2012 by his beloved wife of nearly seventy years, Sheila Edna (Whalley). Also predeceased by son Wayne; parents Henry (Harry) and Martha (nee Beilhartz) Wunsch; and brother Henry. Survived by sons Garth (wife Arlene Cretzman) of Lively, Dan (wife Liane Dubois) of Sudbury, and Robin of North Bay; brothers Ed of North Bay and Bob of Lloydminster, AB. Life was not always easy, but he always faced it with a stoic smile and a “can do” attitude, surviving two cancers, three knee replacements and a severe mining accident that would have killed a lesser man. He didn’t quite make his goal of 100, but he sure tried. His passions were gardening and camping in Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park. He taught us the value of hard work, the meaning of integrity, and the power of love. Deeply missed by extended family and grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan, Tamara and Alex, as well as daughter-in-law Lucie Gauthier. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2- 4 & 7 – 9 pm. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Thursday April 30, 2015. Interment Calvin Township Cemetery.
