Obituary of Marjorie Lois James

JAMES (nee Stewart), Marjorie Lois Peacefully at Wentworth Lodge in Dundas on Tuesday, March 18, at the age of 89 years. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Leonard “Len” Neville James in 1998. Loving mother of Martin & his wife Suzanne of Sudbury, Valerie & her husband Aldo Cianfrini and Len & his wife Kathy Popalini both of Dundas. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Emily, Katy, Edward, Laura, Lisa, David (Ellie), Tom, Paul, Aurora and Liam. Dear sister of Dalton Stewart of Nipissing Village (predeceased). Marjorie trained as a registered nurse at the Hamilton General Hospital and met Len during her first posting in Kirkland Lake. Their marriage in 1951 was the start of an adventurous and lifelong relationship beginning in various northern mining towns then North Bay and New Liskeard where they formed many enduring friendships. Marjorie’s nursing career included working at hospitals and as a public health nurse in the Tri-town and North Bay areas. Marjorie was an avid bridge player and enjoyed spending summers at Fraser Island in Lake Nipissing with family and friends. Visitation for Marjorie will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday, March 22 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Memorial donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to The Canadian Mental Health Association or the North Bay Food Bank.
