Obituary of John Franklin White

WHITE: John Passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, after a courageous battle with emphysema, on Sunday, January 15th, 2017. John Franklin White, was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Carol” (nee Landriault) and Marguerite (nee Point), he was 84 years old. Loving father of Vicki White of North Bay and David White of Toronto. Loving stepfather to Eleanor Kunkle (Roger), Mike Wink and David Wink. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandsons Adam Hewitt and Gregory Decaire. He was predeceased by his parents Ethel and Wilbert “Wib” White and by his siblings Harvey, Howard, Basil, Alvin, Oral, Melvin “Bob” and Gloria. Dear brother of Wilma Leigh and Claire Dunk (husband Jim). John worked for Bell Canada retiring after 34 years. He then managed the 406 Wing for many years, thoroughly enjoying the morning cribbage games he played. John was an avid baseball and hockey player in his youth. He was an avid Blue Jay fan, enjoying the past few seasons very much. John’s family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday January 20th from 12noon until time for a Memorial Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. If desired, donations the Ontario Lung Association (cheques only) would be appreciated by John’s family. John’s family would like to thank, the wonderful nurses and staff at the NBRHC for the loving care they gave. He will be remembered for his quick wit, by family and friends. John will be missed!
