Obituary of Erkki Inkilainen

INKILAINEN: Erkki "Eric" Tapani Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Heath Center, with his family by his side, on Thursday, June 9th, 2016, at the age of 75 years. Eric was the beloved husband of Pirkko (nee Korhonen). Loving father of Ruth Englehart (Gordon), Lea Tansley (Harold) and Rita Skomorowski (Les). He will be loving remembered by his grandchildren Eric, JuliAnna, Amy, James (Bree), Sheryl (George), Sarah (Reilly), and Tina, and his great grandchildren Ashton, Gavin, Emma, Rylan, Aubrey and Annalea. Eric was predeceased by his mother Anna Elina Charrette. A former resident of Timmins, Eric was a well known entrepreneur there for many years, enjoying several careers. A lead burner by trade, he owned a shoe store and later sold industrial filtration equipment. He was an active member of the Timmins Rotary Club and after moving to North Bay was associated with the North Bay Rotary Club. A philanthropist, over the past thirty years, Eric has travelled to Cuba and India many times, raising money and supporting the needy. He actively gathered clothing and medical equipment to send, by the container full to those less fortunate. For the past several years he has been a regular volunteer at The Gathering Place. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon and evening from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9pm. Then on Monday June 13th, from 11:00am at the Bethel Gospel Chapel, 781 Tackaberry Drive, until time for services at 2:00pm. If desired donations to El Shaddai Bible School, Boys Dormitory Construction, which is the school in India that Eric has supported for many years, will be gratefully acknowledged.
