Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
GEDDES - Kenneth Herbert Passed away peacefully March 23, 2016 at Waters Edge Care Community, North Bay following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Ken was in his 94th year. Ken was the dearly loved husband of the late Evelyn Grace Fournier, the mother of his children, and the late Vivienne Roy. The proud and loving father of Judith Evelyne Gallardi (Greg), Bryan Charles Geddes, deceased (Debra), and Daniel Boyd Geddes (Jillian). He held a special place in the hearts of his Grandchildren; Matthew (Beckie), Adam (Niamh), Sarah (Steve), Ben, Evelyn, Colin (Jenn) and Erica and his Great Grandchildren; Caitlin, Olivia, Myranda, Connor, Hayes and Mick. The dear brother of Leonard Douglas Geddes. After a life long career with Ontario Hydro he retired as the Purchasing Officer for the Northeastern Region. Ken will also be remembered as a long time resident of Rutherglen where he farmed for many years. His dedication to the land and his interest in all aspects of farming remained his great joy. Right till the end he looked forward to his weekend drives out to the country. His optimistic view of the world never faltered. Every day was a great day. He quietly taught us valuable lessons by simply observing how he handled all things. A special note of gratitude to all those at Waters Edge who offered compassionate and loving care and helped to make his days fulfilled and enjoyable. They helped create a new home for him and became his extended family in his final years. Cremation has taken place. Internment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Rutherglen will occur later with a private family service. Arrangements entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home with online condolences at www.martynfh.com.
