Obituary of Leona Annette Chamberlain

CHAMBERLAIN – Leona A. The Chamberlain family sadly announces the death of their dear mother Leona, at Nipissing Manor on Tuesday August 2, 2016. A lifelong North Bay resident, Leona (nee Lamonthe) was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth William Chamberlain. He predeceased her in 1997. The proud and loving mother of Joyce Jolley (Bob) and Richard (Lynda) both of North Bay, John (Debby) of Whitecourt, Alberta, and Brian (Beryl) of Misissauga she will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Angie, Jenny, Stacey Lynn, Jillian, Amy and Adam and her five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her only sister Irene Cribb. Leona loved music and was a gifted and talented pianist having played for most of her life. She played with the National Ballet and will be remembered by many as the pianist for the Barbara Treleavan Dance School. A position that she took a lot of pleasure and pride in and enjoyed for close to thirty years. A gregarious person she was blessed with many friends, enjoyed people and the company of others. The Chamberlain family is especially grateful for the excellent care Leona received during her stay at Nipissing Manor. Our heartfelt thank you for your care and compassion given to our mother. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join with the Chamberlain family in the Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon, August 28th, 2016, from 1:00pm until time for a memorial service at 2:00pm. A reception will follow at Branch # 23 , Royal Canadian Legion. If desired donations to a charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged as expression of sympathy.
