My deepest condolences to the Blair family. I just heard about the passing of your mother. Rose was a truly special and dedicated mom/coach.She demanded so much from us both on and off the ice .That drive still resonates deep within me to always give more in everything that I do. I know she affected many other players and people in the same way. Coaching was only one of a great many talents she had. If only I could do half the things she did during her exceptional life. Thinking of you during this difficult time of loss and mourning.

Thinking of all of you during this incredibly sad time and hoping you can find peace in the memories you made together as a family. I have fond memories of Captain and Rose, especially at their annual New Year's Eve celebration.

To all the family, your mother was someone I looked up to, someone I aspired to be like and a person that modeled what every coach and person should be. Forty three years later after our Germania Club first year squirt team, I still talk about your mom, I can still hear her voice and remember her practices; even those upstairs at West Ferris with our running shoes when there was not enough ice practice time. She was a person every sporting association should model there brochure about. The City of North Bay should remember her in a very significant way. God Bless.

Butch, Bruce, Glen and Kathleen and families. I was deeply saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. As a young man involved with minor hockey in North Bay, you could not help but know your Mom. She was like a second Mom to many of us who would spend hours at the rink either playing or refereeing hockey with the odd sandwich being brought in the referees room when I was a teenager from her and I would be refereeing all day. Your mom was a gem of a woman who treated us all like we were her own, including giving us you know what when we needed it. I also thoroughly enjoyed learning so much from your Mom and Dad when I started volunteering with the Golden Puck which I carried over when I became chair of this event. Gone but never forgotten. RIP Mrs. Blair. You were an inspiration to so many of us.

A very special lady who exemplified what community means. She was a very familiar face for me growing up in West Ferris, spending many hours at the rink there. Seeing her through my school days at Tweedsmuir and West Ferris SS, it was nice to see a familiar face - one you knew to respect. My sympathies to your family during this time. She has left an example I strive to follow.

On behalf of Caroline,Zachary,Marie and myself I would like to express OUR deepest condolences to Glenn,Kath,Bruce,Butch and the entire Blair family on your loss.I tried several times last night to type out the condolences to you but I broke dwn crying. The first time I was introduced to your mom and dad -it wasn't Mr and Mrs Blair-it was Rose and Captain!Through the many family get togethers and the always New Years salute to Alberta Crude I got to expierence everything Blair and for that I am blessed. Her dedication to West Ferris Minor Hockey,Ladies Rinquette and then providing snacks for seniors at Shoppers Drug Mart on Seniors Day showed her committement to her community. The stories of her transporting those large wooden cutouts dwn at the heritage railway from toronto are legendary.I will miss her smile and laugh..but she never got mad -she just got even in a fun way..Your family was a big part of my youth,i learned from your family how to get along, respect one another and to have determination no matter what you set out to do.They say we are mirrors of our parents and yours would be proud of how you all turned out.Thank you again for the chance to share your mom with us-we are all better people for knowing her-until we meet again. Love The Duvals.
