Predeceased by his sister Helen May, sister Grace, brother Howard, brother Ronald, sister Ruby Wilms, granddaughter April Kerr and son-in-law Eldon Kerr. Harry was born on May 23, 1924 in North Bay, Ontario. He was the second of eleven children. As was common of his generation, Harry left school after grade eight to help out with the family income. He was drafted in to the army in 1944 and it was there that he met the love of his life, Dorothy (Dot) Lambie of Dubuc Saskatchewan. He talked her in to moving back to North Bay to live with his parents until they were married on August 29, 1947. On May 8, 1949 along came daughter number one, Linda May and then on August 2, 1950 daughter number two, Terry Ann snuck into the family. For the next twenty or so years he provided for his family by driving city buses and taxis`. Later in his career he drove dump trucks and heavy machinery, which he loved most. When he retired in 1989 he began building small furniture for family and friends. Especially did he love to make wooden puzzles that would frustrate his friends when they tried to figure out how they worked, but he got a big laugh out of watching them try. Harry was baptized as one of Jehovah`s Witnesses on December 13, 1953 and spent many hours travelling with his family to the conventions the Witnesses would have each year across Canada. They also made many trips to see Dot`s family in Saskatchewan. In July 2010 Harry sold his family home of 52 years and moved in to Cassellholme where he made many friends and was well taken care of and loved by all the staff. They especially loved the twinkle in his bright blue eyes when they said “Hi Harry”. The family would like to thank from the bottom of their hearts, Dr. Prins and all the nurses and staff for their excellent care of ‘Dad’. Martyn Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements for cremation. The funeral service will be held at the Kingdom Hall, corner of Hwy 63 and Anita Avenue at 2 pm Saturday November 28, Ken Collins officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the ‘Watch Tower’.
