Obituary of Hugh Robertson Knox
Hugh died peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the age of 90. Hugh was predeceased by Marjorie, the love of his life for 58 years. He is survived by his children, Bruce and Marisa Knox, Blair and Marina Knox, Elizabeth and James Bennett and Joan and Bruce Downey as well as his loving grandchildren, Graham and John Knox, Stuart, Christopher, and Hailey Knox, Coleman Bennett, and Jackson and Clarke Downey. All of us were able to spend much time and share many memories with Hugh. While he will be greatly missed, we know that he knew he was well-loved, and he went gracefully, at home, on his own terms, to be with the love of his life Marjorie. Hugh was passionate about his children and grandchildren and loved to hear about all of their accomplishments and share in these moments. He also loved to tell a good story, over a cocktail, with family and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Faisal Rehman who offered exceptional medical care and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 17th at 11:00 am at St. Andrew's United Church, 399 Cassells Street, North Bay, ON with interment to follow at North Bay Union Cemetery, 132 Golf Course Road, North Bay. Following the service and family interment, the family will receive guests for a reception at The Station, 603 McIntyre Street East. Please help us to celebrate the wonderful life that Hugh really loved and lived. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Hugh to Loaves & Fishes - Food Sharing Program (St. Andrew's Church, North Bay) or Knock Out Kidney Disease (http://www.lhsf.ca/ways-to-give/physicians-changing-lives/new/knocking-out-kidney-disease ) will be greatly appreciated.
