Obituary of Paul Meredith Norris

NORRIS: Paul Peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Center, on Thursday July 9, 2015. Paul Meredith Norris, of Callander passed in his 75th year. In his final months he faced difficult challenges with courage and resolve. Loving father of Dr. Trevor Norris (Carly), Chris Norris (Julie) and Julianne Ball (Simon) of Toronto, who he raised with his former wife Lynnette Norris. Dearly loved brother of Pat Martin of Toronto. Paul worked for many years in the Insurance & Investment Industry, then retired to live on the South Shore of Lake Nipissing where he quickly became a part of the cultural life of North Bay and area. He could be seen boating on the lake, riding his motorbike, or socializing at local events. He loved telling stories, clipping articles and reading obits. He was a frequent attendee and sometimes participant at functions at the Capital Center, Art Exhibits and Readings. Paul was a devoted church member at Calvin Presbyterian Church while in North Bay and the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Dora Florida. A Board member of the Nipissing Museum and active member of the Rotary Club of North Bay-Nipissing, he enjoyed many hours Golfing, communing with nature, and delighting in his grandchildren Forest and River. The family is grateful for the frequent visits and even live music friends shared with him in his final days. A Memorial Service will be held at the Calvin Presbyterian Church (401 First Ave W. North Bay) on Saturday July 18 at 2 P.M. Cremation has taken place at the Forest lawn Crematorium.
