My family was truly saddened to learn of Barbs passing. I never once entered her classroom without being greeted with a smile. She was a kind, gentle, positive teacher who helped to nurture a generation of children." One of our family's favourite memories was when Mrs. Peterson surveyed the children in grade one to see how the children were versed in family Thanksgiving traditions. She copied each child's questions and answers without revealimg the child's identity and sent the entire class' surveys home. Truly an eye opening experience of how the children viewed what the holiday was and their parents roles. A humorus look at how the children perceived their world.

I was so sad to learn that Mrs. Peterson has passed. My Mom truly enjoyed all of the time they spent together at Tweedsmuir. She was such a sweet lady, so caring and an absolutely amazing teacher. It would be difficult to determine how many kids were provided a solid academic foundation because of her, she was always ready and willing to go the extra mile for her students. The world was a much better place with her in it.

Dear Peterson Family, As a friend of Erin's through scuba diving, I've been privy to seeing the beacon of light and positive energy she is, which I assume she can only have got from loving and supportive family and her legion of friends, a group of whom, I'm happy to consider myself a small part of. When I heard the news I was grief stricken that some one so young would be gone so quickly and I can't imagine the loss of a parent, so my heart breaks for the family and the children. Dear Richard and family: I was so shocked to hear of Barbara's sudden passing. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all in your great loss. Barb and I had re-connected a couple of months ago when we had a lovely lunch at Average Joes with another classmate from St Joseph's school. The lunch was so enjoyable we planned on doing it again before my relocation to Barrie. Barbara was a wonderful soft-spoken person who will be sorely missed. I believe that she already has a special place in Heaven that's been waiting just for her.

Mrs. Peterson was one of my favourite teachers. She taught me in senior kindergarten many years ago. I also assisted her class as a co-op while I was in high school. She was always so kind, soft-spoken and had the utmost care and patience for her students. She was a very special lady who really did shape lives.
