BRUNETTE, JEWELL-ANN (née Bourke, 1946-2015)
Peacefully, at home, after a valiant battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (A.L.S.), Jewell-Ann passed on 5 June 2015. Predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Joseph, and her best friend, Bonnie Allen, Jewell-Ann is survived by Ray, her husband of 48 years, as well as her devoted daughters: Andrée Brunette (Shawn Moore), Micheline Pride (Jonathan), and Aimée Cazabon (Richard). She also leaves her siblings: Bob (Cathy), Michael (Cathy), and Bryan (Ann Marie). She will be missed by her much loved grandchildren: Joshua Pride, Maire Harrison (Nate), and Bourke and McCrea Cazabon. She will be missed dearly by her in-laws: Jeannine Rota (Vic), Helen Randle (Pete), Moe (Barb), Annette Corbeil (René, deceased), André (Gillian, deceased), and Claude (Natalie), as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Jewell-Ann will be remembered for her many gifts and talents, but particularly for her beautiful soprano voice, having sung countless weddings and other occasions.
She was employed for 25 years as executive assistant at the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board, where she made many good friends.
Many thanks to all who assisted in her care, especially the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), the Personal Support Workers from CarePartners, Para Med, Dr. Gordon Mah, and the A.L.S. Society.
Funeral arrangements are in the hands of the Martyn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 on Tuesday, June 9th. Funeral mass will take place at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption on Wednesday, June 10th at 10:00 am. In lieu of Flowers, donations to the A.L.S. Society would be appreciated by Jewell-Ann’s family. Online condolences at www.martynfh.com
