Obituary of John Richard Dodgson

DODGSON - John Richard "Jack, Barney, Mr. D." At Health Sciences North, Sudbury, on Friday October 24, 2014 at the age of 77 years. John fought to live but lost. Beloved husband of Carol Anne (nee Cooper), and a devoted father to Jeffrey and Jamie. Cherished grandfather to Jessica (Mike), Jonathon, Andrew and Jasmine. Remembered fondly by Tina Dodgson, and Vicki Dodgson. Loved by his brother Murray, and his wife Franca, and their children Matthew (Sarah), Bryan (Ashley), Daniel (Cristina) and Marisa (Spencer). John retired from the North Bay Police Service after thirty five and one half years of service. He volunteered for many years with the Canadian Mental Health Association, and with the 547 Air Cadet Squadron. Born in North Bay he was predeceased by his parents Alma and Gib Dodgson and his infant sister Maxine. He will be missed by his many four legged friends. Visitation at the Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00am Thursday October 30. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. If desired donations to the North Bay Humane Society, the North Bay Food Bank or the Gathering Place will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
