Just thoughts of Auntie Marg have spawned happy memories throughout the last 72 years, put a smile in my heart and brightened my outlook during the day. Growing up "we're going to Auntie Marg's & Uncle Gordons" or "Auntie Marg & and Uncle Gordon are coming over" were special occasions for me growing up. Auntie Marg's signature laugh or giggle were infectious. Even on occasion when I did something untoward, her "OH, Kenneth" (with accompanying corrective suggestions) are remembered fondly because the actions or attitude would have been corrected immediately because I didn't want to displease this special person. Throughout my life Auntie Marg has held a special place along with Mum in my heart as MY FAVOURITE AUNT. We were so fortunate to have visited Auntie Marg at Gwen's this July. Lili and I, and daughter Courtney were tickled pink reminiscing, catching up and introducing )Great-great-grand (great?) Marg to Courtney's son Hunter, and Meaghan's daughter Cora. We are extremely saddened by Auntie Marg's death, but her bright smile, the lilt in her voice, infectious laugh, and the love that everyone had for her will last forever. We all out west here send our heartfelt condolences to Gwen and the rest of our cousins, children, and spouses. We will miss her deeply.

Auntie Marg is the sister of my Mum, Connie. As little boys, my brothers and I spent time at a cottage with Auntie Marg and our cousins. We had drawing sessions there and I learned to draw with accuracy. I have spent 50 years drawing and painting and I can safely say that every brushstroke was made with reference to Auntie Marg and her careful like-minded skill. For me she is a guiding force toward empathy, understanding, humour and practicality. She continues to guide my perceptions toward the brighter side of things even though at this time the diminished light of sadness burdens the kind of lightheartedness Auntie Marg consistently emanated. I will miss our “hello ,hello” telephone talks of family history, technique and perception of fine art painting along with the adventures of The Brown Baggers. Not to mention how “the parts” are doing or the pleasure of her freshly baked corn muffins. We are fortunate that Auntie Marg and Uncle Gordon created such a great family and so many authentic works of fine art. My sincere condolences are extended to my cousins at this difficult time.

I and my three bothers are so lucky to have had this vivacious and energetic person as our favourite Auntie Marg. I'm sure that our Carr (her's and our mother's maiden name) cousins would agree that the Webster household was THE fun place to visit as kids .... and beyond! Always activity after activity and Auntie Marg at the centre of all.
I recall as a child that a drawing of Auntie Marg's was framed on our piano. There wasn't much original Art in our household at that time and so I was enthralled to see evidence that a person could create an image so realistically. It was of the Carr family's cat, 'Calico'. It was my first impression of real Art and the image has stayed with me all these years, even after having been through my own art and design careers. Several of Auntie Marg's pastel landscapes are my most prized possessions.
Each of us in the extended family have wonderful intimate memories of Auntie Marg ... much of it hilarious laughter ... but a particularly poignant thought for the four 'Brands boys' at this time is that Marguerite was not only our Mother's kid sister but she was also her best friend. My, my they had good times together!
Thinking of our cousins with love.

Sorry to hear of Marguerite's passing on August 20th. I fondly recall visits with Marguerite at her home on Bird Lane and enjoyed her passion for her art work and her gentle presence. What a wonderful picture which displayed on this site which captures her warm smile so well. Blessing to all of her family in this season of new grief.

I shall miss her stories, her wonderful humor and her love of life. I could always count on her leading an ace or putting her hand up to halt a game while she "thought". I loved the endless family stories. She was so proud of you all. Dave and I send our sympathy, love and prayers to you all.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Gwen and her family at this difficult time. I was honoured to have spent a day in Bracebridge with you and your wonderful mom. I will treasure that memory and always remember her sense of humour and gentle manner.
