Obituary of Helen Eliza Bazinet

BAZINET (nee McFarlane): Helen Eliza Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Center on Thursday, August 7, 2014. Helen, was the beloved wife of the late Rene Joseph “Ranney” Bazinet, she was 99 years old. Loving sister of June McFarlane of North Bay. Predeceased by her infant daughter Mary, by her parents Alex and Esther McFarlane, by her siblings Lorene (Mrs. Wilmer Dean), Marjory McFarlane, Grenville “Curly” McFarlane, Donald “Dapper Don” McFarlane, Stanley McFarlane and by her nieces Myrna & Zella. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Marjorie McFarlane and nephews and niece Rob, Rick, Randy, Larry, Mel and Tanya. Helen in her youth she was very active in sports in North Bay, playing Baseball for the “Capitals” and on several teams along with her husband Ranney, winning several cups & trophies. She was also an avid bowler, again playing on mixed teams with Ranney. Helen worked for many years as the Bookkeeper at the Empire Hotel, before she and Ranney operated the “Clover Lunch Convenience Store” which was located at the corner of Fisher & Worthington. Visiting for Helen will be held at the Martyn Funeral Home on Monday, August 11th, from 1:00 PM until time for a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM. Interment Tuesday at the Terrace Lawn Cemetery.
